All About Me
I am a social epidemiologist with extensive experience in life course research and quantitative analysis of observational data. My work explores the development and reproduction of social inequalities in health over the life course, including between generations, using large longitudinal data sets. I am particularly interested in the interaction between micro (individual) and macro (country) level exposures in shaping these inequalities.
At the core of my research agenda is a commitment to understanding how social structures and policies become embodied over time and across generations, ultimately producing patterns of advantage and disadvantage that shape people's lives. To address these dynamics, I employ rigorous quantitative methods, including causal inference, multi-level modeling, and sequence analysis.
My current research aims to better understand how health and social policies can reduce social and life course inequalities in preventive healthcare uptake in middle and early old age. This research is part of the “Prevent Too” project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and carried out by a Swiss-Belgian team. More information on this grant can be found here.
