Life Course Models
In life course epidemiology, we often make use of different theoretical models that aim to explain how exactly events across the life course can affect health in later life. Explore them here.

Life course models are a simplification of complex relationships that develop over the life course, from childhood to old age. They go beyond biology to also incorporate social, psychological, economic, and behavioral factors. These models are meant to guide and illustrate - as such they are the starting point of research, not a final explanatory model.
